Sagres

Journey of 5 days of  the Portuguese Navy  Ship Sagres, during a visit to Mozambique,  between the cities of Maputo and Beira, Sept 2008.<br />
Without the cadets on board, the ship  was on a diplomatic trip, called Operation Open Sea. <br />
Sagres was built in 1937 at the Blohm&Voss shipyards, in Hamburg, Germany.<br />
After the end of  World War II the ship  was taken by the  USA as war prize.<br />
In 1948, Albert Leo Schaefer  (Sagres original name) was sold by the US to Brazil for a symbolic amount of $5,000.<br />
In 1962 Portugal bought the ship and named it Sagres.
